Tamra's principles are woven throughout her projects, from like-minded manufacturers to rejuvenating heirloom furniture, and sourcing vegan materials. Her clients love her signature pops of color and mid-century modern style, creating beautiful, timeless spaces that will be enjoyed for years to come.

Tamra Coviello

Tamra Coviello founded Blackdoor Design by Tamra Coviello in 2018 in San Diego, CA where she created her signature Timeless Modern design. She is a certified True Color Expert and provides customization in each project she designs with an emphasis on sustainability. She partners with vendors and curates from local trades whenever possible to reflect her beliefs in a sustainable home.

She grew up in all four corners of the United States due to her father’s service in the military, plus having her mother as an ASID Interior Designer made for a culturally enriched childhood. Tamra attended the University of San Diego, fell in love with the cultural diversity in San Diego, and has lived here for over 30 years. She eventually settled in Escondido with her husband where they raised their two children. Nowadays as empty nesters, her husband and she have happily moved out to Fallbrook/Pala Mesa area and enjoy the agricultural environment. Tamra has found that her new rural homestead surroundings have become her muse for her design work. She enjoys introducing nature into her clients’ homes wherever possible these days.
